I’m Looking For Work

Published on March 27, 2009

I’ve been a bit preoccupied the last couple of days with a new project of mine that I hope will help me find a job. I have been trying to think of new and creative ways to get my resume seen, and I thought that a blog might be the way to go. So I’ve started a site called Make Me Your CEO, not only will it feature my resume but it will also provide a platform for broader social commentary.

Please help me spread the word about the new site and I will be back to posting about bonsai trees very soon. I’ve provided “Share This” links throughout the blog to make it easy to share the site with everyone. Thanks in advance to everyone who is willing to help me out with this.

Shout Out Saturday 4

Published on February 23, 2008

Some of my friends ask me where I learn about blogging, and finding information to keep up with the blogosphere.  The best place that I have found is problogger.net, I think it has the best understanding of how blogs work and how to build quality readership.  Last night while I was catching up on this blog I noticed the Entrecard widget, and clicked on it to find out what it was all about.  It turns out that Entrecard is a great tool for promoting your blog, getting others to promote your blog, and in turn promoting their blogs.  Some of my regular readers may have already noticed the addition of this widget to my blog, and I would like to encourage everyone to sign up with them, because I think it is a really good tool.  Also I want to take this opportunity to welcome all of my new Entrecard readers, and encourage them to drop their cards and comment to say hello.  Before I get to the shout outs, I just want to thank everyone for digging and stumbling the site.  I’ve noticed a pretty good increase in diggs this week, and I appreciate the plug.   Now for some shout outs:

Easy Bonsai Garden
http://www.easybonsaigarden.com/
Healthy Bonsai stopped by to comment this week from the Easy Bonsai Garden, and I was excited to finally see another Bonsai site here.  Check out the video section for some great tips on caring for bonsai, they have some of the best information on the internet.

Lucky Girl Trading
http://luckygirltrading.blogspot.com/
Peggy from Lucky Girl Trading, I think probably found Ken’s Trees from Entrecard.  The Lucky Girl Trading blog is about beading and other crafts, with lots of photos showing her very creative work.

Shout Out Saturday 3

Published on February 16, 2008

I’ve been meaning to get another Shout Out up for some time now, and did not want to put it off again today.  I want to thank everyone for following the blog, and I’m working hard to develop new content to make this a great resource for anyone looking to learn about bonsai.  There are a couple web sites that I want to Shout Out to this week, hopefully you will find them either interesting or helpful as I did.

My Mountain Garden
http://www.mymountaingarden.com/
Kathy left a comment the other week, and has been working on growing some herbs at the site.  There is also a nice post about trees titled “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”, although it doesn’t mention Clint Eastwood it is still worth checking out.

Future House Farm
http://futurehousefarm.blogspot.com/
This site has been featured in the Shout Out before, and Meg continues to be a loyal reader so I wanted to make sure to highlight this great blog again.  There have been a number of posts at the site about living green lately, and things to keep in mind in your daily activities.

Whatcom Seed Company
http://seedrack.com/
This is where I purchased all of the seeds seen on this website.  The site has a good selection seeds that work well for bonsai, and they are all shipped with instructions.

Shout Out Saturday 2

I hope everyone enjoyed watching the sprout grow this week, it is amazing how quick this is taking off.  It’s that time of the week to thank everyone visiting, commenting, and letting others know about it.  Although I had a busy week and did not get the chance to visit too many blogs this week, there were a couple of you that stopped by and commented.  So I have a couple of shout outs this week:

Our Little Acre
http://ourlittleacre.blogspot.com/
Kylee posts at this blog that has a diverse collection of plant and flower photos, she has a collection of 179 house plants and I cannot wait to see what her garden this spring.

Wicked Gardener
http://wickedgardener.blogspot.com/
The Wicked Gardener may be experiencing some depression outdoors waiting for the long winter to end, but she is making up for it with some great looking indoor plants.

Again, thanks everyone for stopping by.  I also wanted to take this opportunity to mention that I am trying to start section with photos of readers trees.  If you own a tree (bonsai or big) that you are proud of please send me a photo and a description of what you want everyone to know about it (of course include your blog address so I can plug it in the post).

I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who visited and especially those who commented or plugged the blog in someway like Stumble Upon. A couple of you who commented also run blogs or web pages of your own and I figured this would be a good opportunity to say thanks and give a shout out to your sites.
